Randi Blumenthal-Joseph is the 3rd generation owner and president of Garment Embellishment Company Penn Emblem. Throughout her 35 years of experience, Blumenthal-Joseph has brought a plethora of knowledge and expertise to the ever-changing embellishment industry. Having held many positions in the company, Blumenthal-Joseph has experience in supply chain, customer service, and manufacturing areas of the company. Blumenthal-Joseph has played a very special role in Penn Emblem’s success throughout her time with the business.

Early Life
Randi Blumenthal-Joseph was exposed to the world embellishments starting at an early age which has contributed to her successful career. At the age of 13 years old, Blumenthal-Joseph began her passion for Penn Emblem on Saturdays working with her dad learning how to write and process orders. During High School, she would work after school doing a variety of small jobs including typing, taking care of the mail, and answering the phones. She eventually graduated to working in payroll and had a summer job doing inventory, shipping, and transportation.

Starting Her Career
Blumenthal-Joseph became a full-time employee of Penn Emblem Company in 1979 where she started working on ERP and inventory control. She shadowed many experienced people in a variety of areas in the business and learned how to work with customers. The mentoring process allowed Blumenthal-Joseph the opportunity to work with experienced team players and gain a great background to move into management.

While working the 3rd shift at the old Penn Emblem Eastburn Road Factory, a Teamster union facility, she continued her education in manufacturing; service and delivery sourcing etc.

 

Moving Up
Blumenthal-Joseph became Senior Vice President of Sales in 1994 and was responsible for leading the Company’s overall sales efforts mostly focused in the Uniform Rental Industry. At the time, she successfully led an 80 person sales team. Eventually in 2005, she was promoted to Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development before becoming the president of Penn Emblem Company in 2011. As president, Blumenthal-Joseph is responsible for day to day operations of manufacturing and marketing functions.

Involvement in Charity
“Do the Right Thing. Do Things Right,” are the core values of Penn Emblem that have been passed down since its founding. These beliefs have been practiced by Blumenthal-Joseph throughout her career. She has served on the board of both the Federation Day Care and the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.  She is also involved in the Caron Treatment Center and works with families who are in need of treatment assistance. Blumenthal-Joseph has also held membership in the Uniform Textile Service Association, the Textile Service Association, and the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.
